Welcome to Glasgow!

Glasgow was next on my whistlestop tour of the country and I fell completely in love with it! Unlike Edinburgh, I’d never been to Glasgow before and our one night in the city wasn’t nearly enough to explore properly.

Glasgow is a great city to walk around and a little easier to navigate than Edinburgh, in my opinion (or at least flatter). We stayed in the Kelvingrove area, which was really picturesque with lots of great cages, vintage shops and lush scenery. We also took the subway which is ADORABLE – for somebody who uses the sprawling London Underground on a daily basis, the simplicity of a single, circular line like the subway is a novel experience.

Over in the centre of town, I particularly loved the Princes Square Shopping Centre with it’s gorgeous art deco interior, although the shops weren’t quite my normal fare so I wouldn’t recommend it for shopping. Instead, head to all the amazing vintage outlets near Kings Court – there’s about 4 vintage stores in a row – I may or may not have picked up multiple new dresses and continued my travels with a bulging suitcase…

  1. It looks gorgeous!
I’ve never been there but I know some of the bands I like play there when they are in tour. I’ll put it in my “must visit” list then.
    Thanks again!

That sounds lovely! I always wanted to go to Glasgow, but unfortunately never did! One day! It was lovely to read about it and the vintage stores… also, the transportation seems to be “lighter”, compared to London, for sure! Eager to read about your other experiences in Scotland!
