Like the Isle Of Wight, Saltburn is a part of the UK I wouldn’t have visited if it weren’t for family. I visited Saltburn a couple of weeks back. It was the first time I’d stayed overnight and had a chance to explore. It’s a small town, but very beautiful – right on the coast with gorgeous sandy beaches. There are rocky cliffs and huge wooded areas to explore. I’m also a big fan of the painted red and white hut on the pier and the town cliff lift.
Although I’ve lived my whole life in London, I’ve always felt very connected to the seaside. Quite a lot of my family have made their homes by the sea; living by the coastline in Mauritius, the Isle of Wight, and the East Coast of the US. I can see the appeal, walking by the sea every morning just makes you feel a bit more alive somehow.
As you can see, my relatives in Saltburn have this beautiful mini dachsund. I’m obviously biased but isn’t he cute? I’m not a huge dog person, but for a tiny dog he has a lot of expressions and personality. Tell me that’s not some extreme side-eye in the above photo! I’m excited to return in a few weeks to see this little fella as well as seeing Saltburn in all it’s autumnal glory! Are any of you near Saltburn?
