Helsinki instagram spots are basically around every corner! I’ve tried to convey how colourful and beautiful Helsinki is in my previous posts, but I had so many more photos showing off this gorgeous city that I thought I’d share a few more. In case it wasn’t obvious, I was really enchanted by Helsinki and am itching to return sometime soon!
I’m not normally the kind of girl to dress up to match my surroundings, but Helsinki was so colourful that Ryan and I found that every day there was a new patch of wall or street we’d find where one or both of us blended in completely. It was a surprise- Helsinki wasn’t on my radar as a particularly colourful city before I went. Now I know better!
Many of these photos were taken in Vallila, a neighbourhood in the north of the city. Vallila is one of the oldest districts in Helsinki and home to lots of old wooden buildings and houses. They’re all painted in pretty pastel hues and it felt a little like walking onto a film set! We also found a lot of colourful buildings on Suomenlinna, a small island home to an old fortress, a brewery and many museums. Returning to London has seemed a bit grey after the whimsy and colour of Helsinki!
