I was back up in Saltburn recently to see family. A big bonus is we got to spend time with their adorable dog! He’s a miniature red dachshund – so cute and weeny, isn’t he?! Saltburn is a really gorgeous part of the UK and I felt so grateful to be out in the woods during Autumn. I’ve become really fond of our trips up north and getting to explore the area.
Autumn walks are fun anyway but even more so when you’re accompanied by an overexcited pup! Walking the dog is such a novelty for somebody like me who has never owned a pet. Dachshunds are historically bred to hunt burrowing animals like badgers and rabbits, so a key personality traits is their love of burrowing and tunnelling. All the piles of leaves ready to be explored at perfect dachshund height made for one happy little dog.
I find it quite difficult to dress for the Autumn. I seem to reach “cold” quicker than most of my friends and my mood drops with the temperature. The pretty colours of the leaves stop me getting too grumpy, but other then that I’m just constantly trying to stay warm! Polo necks and pinafores are my standard uniform at the moment.
This purple check pinafore is my new favourite item; it’s vintage (obvs), has pockets and is made of CORDUROY. Cord is just the best fabric! My boots are “borrowed” from my Dad and have been on my feet 95% of the last few weeks. What’s the point in having massive feet if you can’t borrow your Dads shoes?
