I was back up in Saltburn recently to see family. A big bonus is we got to spend time with their adorable dog! He’s a miniature red dachshund – so cute and weeny, isn’t he?! Saltburn is a really gorgeous part of the UK and I felt so grateful to be out in the woods during Autumn. I’ve become really fond of our trips up north and getting to explore the area.

Autumn walks are fun anyway but even more so when you’re accompanied by an overexcited pup! Walking the dog is such a novelty for somebody like me who has never owned a pet. Dachshunds are historically bred to hunt burrowing animals like badgers and rabbits, so aΒ key personality traits is their love of burrowing and tunnelling. All the piles of leaves ready to be explored at perfect dachshund height made for one happy little dog.

AUTUMN DRESSING

I find it quite difficult to dress for the Autumn. I seem to reach “cold” quicker than most of my friends and my mood drops with the temperature. The pretty colours of the leaves stop me getting too grumpy, but other then that I’m just constantly trying to stay warm! Polo necks and pinafores are my standard uniform at the moment.

This purple check pinafore is my new favourite item; it’s vintage (obvs), has pockets and is made of CORDUROY. Cord is just the best fabric! My boots are “borrowed” from my Dad and have been on my feet 95% of the last few weeks. What’s the point in having massive feet if you can’t borrow your Dads shoes?

I love these autumnal shots, and the adorable addition of that cute dachshund makes it even better! I love your outfit, especially the shoes, those are just the kind of thing I need to get as I’ve gotten wet feet several times during the week as I keep wearing my flats out! Lovely photos. – Tasha

Those leaves look super crunchy and satisfying πŸ˜‰ Aww the daschund, he’s so cute!

  3. I love corduroy as well! You look really beautiful and I didn’t know that dachshund were “meant” to hunt rabbits… but checking tunnels out is OK πŸ™‚ The little dog looks sooo sweet! Very nice you could visit part of your family! By the way, you say you have massive feet, but through your pictures I can’t see that. But well, you are tall. Good that you got to wear your dad’s boots!

I love Autumnal walks and crunching over orange leaves, these photos make me feel slightly sad we’re going into Winter now, they look so cosy.
