Easter Sunday

April 16, 2017

An Easter Sunday post has become a bit of a tradition on this blog. Last year I was getting a bit of backlash on my blog re veganism, but previous years were a little more contemplative. I’ve been a bit absent from posting on this blog recently, although I have been here! Sorting out internal site issues has taken up some time, and I also set up an account with ko-fi, a cute little site where readers can “buy me a coffee” if you really like what you’re reading. It’s basically a tip button! You can find it over in the sidebar if you’re interested!

A Good Good Friday

Crisis aside, Easter is such a great time of year. The cherry blossoms this year are just magnificent! I’ve spent every spare moment outside trying to capture all their splendour. It’s made me think a lot about this blog – what was a space to share photography has become something else entirely. When I’m very busy with work it becomes harder to update, and it’s upsetting to watch comments come in and go unreplied, or views drop and promotion cease. Though I understand why, there’s still something about it which likes failing. I think I’ll be retreating to the kind of content I used to post. Save my rambly essay-type posts for another season…

For today, I’ve just had an Easter Sunday breakfast and I’ll be working most of the rest of the day. Neither of us are big chocolate people (although I certainly used to be). The chocolate bunny and eggs in this post are actually leftover from last year…! It’s a good thing chocolate doesn’t go off! The gingerbread bunnies are #accidentallyvegan and £1 from the Co-Op, who are basically vegan royalty at this point. What does your Easter look like?

I can’t believe you made your chocolate last a year! There was free Easter candy at an office at my uni today and I was nonstop eating it.

I think most blog traffic ebbs and flows with how busy we get in life. You do what you have to, you know?

  4. Chocolate would never last that long in my presence – you’ve got some restraint, girl! Happy Easter x
