Blossom season is my favourite time of year. Summer is fun but I just can’t get enough of those fluffy pink trees, like sugared clouds dotted along the landscape. Since my hanami Japan trip, I’ve become even more enthusiastic about hunting down the best Sakura in London. It’s a fleeting few weeks of loveliness. I’ve tried to document every spare moment in the pink while it lasts. This particular set of photos is Part 1 from Kew Gardens – Part 2 features Moomins!
I have a similar blossom-filled post from Kew Gardens last year, but whose counting when the foliage looks this dreamy? This blog used to more photography-orientated and I’ve been thinking recently I’d like to return to that. Ryan took most of these so thanks pal, I even liked the blurry ones (also, get you a guy who wears vintage tweed and drinks whisky on a Thursday morning). The jellyfish two piece I’m wearing is from mine and my Mum’s favourite brand ever – independent London designers Miss Patina. Their clothes are so beautiful!
I tend to not show myself a lot on this blog, partly because I don’t have a photographer and partly because I sort of feel like what am I offering? As you can see I am barefaced, in trainers, with unbrushed hair, All The Time. There are so many immaculately made-up bloggers out there serving looks! I’m not convinced people want to see unkempt people like myself cavorting around when they could be reading stunning blogs like A Clothes Horse and Mermaidens (two of my faves), y’know? Despite my lack of elegance, it is undeniably fun to go mess around in the sun and take some photos even if I do look serious all the time. There’s something Totoro-esque about my umbrella as well!
I hope you’re not too fed up of cherry blossoms filling up your feed. I’ve got quite a lot more to come in the next couple weeks!
